APPEL is reaching out to invite pharmacists in community and hospital pharmacy settings who would like to facilitate an experiential learning placement for a second-year pharmacy student.
Placement details
This is a two-week block placement.
- RCSI students: 05-16 January 2026
- TCD & UCC students: 12-23 January 2026
What’s Involved?
- The student must be supervised by a PSI registered pharmacist, who is employed in the pharmacy for a minimum of 3 days per week
- Students will bring a workbook to guide their activities and encourage self-directed learning
- There are no formal training requirements – a handbook will be provided and Practice Educators and Operations Team are available to support

What happens next?
If you offer a placement, your pharmacy will be included as an option in the student matching process. Should a student be matched with your pharmacy, we will contact you to confirm the placement by the end of November.
