APPEL has announced the return of its virtual careers event on 20 October. Hundreds of pharmacy students and professionals enjoyed Future of pharmacIE in 2021, and the organisers said they are “looking forward to another fantastic event this year”.
Future of pharmacIE is an online-only event allowing pharmacy professionals and students from around Ireland and beyond to connect with each other from wherever they are.
APPEL has said it is very excited to confirm that Ms Emer Cooke, Executive Director of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), will be delivering the keynote speech. Ms Cooke has over 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry and regulation and is an international leader in her field. As a TCD pharmacy alumni, Ms Cooke is an inspiration for students and professionals as to where their pharmacy career can take them.
The event will also feature panel discussions with pharmacy professionals from around Ireland, reflecting on their careers to date and sharing what they have learned. The distinguished panel has experience in areas from community and hospital pharmacy, to education, regulation and business management, and more. Some past APPEL students will also be joining the event to share their experience as APPEL Trainers and comparing the experiential learning placement experience from both perspectives.
The online Exhibition Hall will be a chance for organisations to promote themselves to attendees, and for attendees to see what opportunities are available for them. Exhibitors from community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, the pharma industry, regulation, education, and more will be there to discuss their work. If an organisation would like to exhibit at the event, please contact the organisers at ops@appel.ie.
Future of pharmacIE is a unique event for the pharmacy world, providing online networking opportunities for pharmacy students and professionals alike. Pharmacists, students, managers, HR representatives, and more will have the chance to connect with anyone at the event without having to travel. Attendees will have the ability to set up their own networking rooms to connect with groups of people or have one-to-one video chats with new connections. The organisers have said this is “an unmissable event for people looking to build their professional network or talent pipeline”.
