PSI inviting applications for new Chief Officer/Registrar

The Council of the PSI has commenced recruitment, on 30 June, to appoint a new Chief Officer/ Registrar. This follows the stepping down of Mr Niall Byrne in December to take up a position with another public body. 

This senior role holder will have overall responsibility for implementing the strategic priorities of the PSI and controlling the business and administration of the PSI in fulfilling its statutory role. The successful candidate will report to the Council of the PSI, and will be required to demonstrate a strong understanding of effective regulation in a health and social care environment, in line with the PSI’s remit, and have experience in successfully leading on complex projects or policy change initiatives with competing stakeholder demands. They will also possess a proven track record in change management, with the ability to be a key influencer within the organisation and externally, said the PSI.
