Cardiac forum discusses latest tools and tech transforming care in the sector

Blackrock Health hosted a Cardiac Arrhythmia Symposium on Saturday 18 November at Blackrock Clinic. The event focused on new advances in the treatment of arrhythmias and was a forum to discuss the exchange of knowledge and best practice techniques.

World-leading electrophysiologists provided cutting-edge insight into treating cardiac arrhythmias, with a special focus on atrial fibrillation.

Speakers on the day included:

Professor Mark O’Neill, Consultant Cardiologist and Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London, who spoke about new advances in atrial fibrillation;

Professor Mattias Duytschaever, Professor in Electrophysiology, University of Ghent & St Jan Hospital Bruges, who discussed radiofrequency ablation in the era of pulsed-field ablation.

Dr Matt Wright, Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London, who discussed efficiency in the electrophysiology lab;

Dr Steven Williams, Honorary Consultant Cardiologist, University of Edinburgh/NHS Lothia who spoke about the use of artificial intelligence in personalised medicine.

Following an introduction from James O’Donoghue, CEO of Blackrock Clinic, part of Blackrock Health, the event sessions were chaired by Consultant Cardiologists
Dr Louisa O’Neill, Dr Daniel O’Hare, and Dr John Keaney, all of whom practise in Blackrock Health.
